Green Heron on Nest.
Seems odd that two weeks previously I had travelled down to Kent, England in the Snow to see this same species and that now I was seeing it on its nest in temperatures in excess of 30 Centigrade.
A photographic account of our trip to the Caribbean in November 2008 when we travelled 2964 nautical miles whilst visiting twelve islands. Key areas were the Frigate Bird breeding Colony ( 10,000+)on Barbuda, the Greater Flamingo Colony ( 11,000+) on Bonaire, the Scarlet Ibis sanctuary in Trinidad and the ubiquitous Turkey Vultures often seen circling in numbers up to 100.
